Three years ago Lee met Hannah on a business trip to South Florida. They both work in the hair industry and he was hired to teach a class at a salon where she worked. After his return to Jacksonville they stayed connected through social media, their physical separation keeping them from pursuing something more.
“We knew we wanted to get married from the beginning, but we didn’t live in the same city and long distance wasn’t an option for either of us. So when I made the move to Jacksonville we didn’t see a reason to wait,” Hannah says.
It was only four months after they officially began dating that Lee popped the question. The two had stopped by his parents’ house and were strolling through the flower garden his grandmother had planted before she passed. “Before I knew it he was tearing up and saying all these beautiful things. We hugged and he got on one knee and pulled out my dream ring,” says Hannah. “I had no idea it was coming when he did it. I’m not sure if he did either. When I asked him later he said he couldn’t wait any longer.”
