Future Projections

by Emily Bailey

The word projector usually brings visions of a hot blowing fan, transparencies and awkwardly scribbled notes, but with today’s technology the decades-old device can be an interesting asset to a wedding.  “Projections bring a modern, creative element to your wedding and can transform a room,” says Alex E. of the Jax band Tomboi. Use projection mapping to cover the walls and ceiling with a tranquil forest scene or twinkling stars. Accent projection mapping can be used to highlight specific elements such as the cake, which can boast animations or text that dances across the still, white frosting. An interactive projection can also be used to have flowers follow the bride down the aisle. “With projections you can put together something a little more intimate and interesting. Everyone wants their wedding to be unique and now people can look to technology for help,” she says.
