Krysta & Bobby

January 21, 2017

Krysta and Bobby both grew up in Deerwood Country Club, only about a mile from each other. “Funny enough, my dad was his first t-ball coach, and his mom was my soccer coach! Our families have been friends for many years,” Krysta says. “The two of us have crossed paths a million times over the years but it wasn’t until recently when it changed our worlds forever.”  One weekend, and by pure chance, the two ran into each other in Athens, Greece. Bobby had just taken a job in Jacksonville and was soon heading home. But after the lucky encounter he couldn’t help but try and extend his stay. Krysta, thinking he was leaving, was surprised to get a call from him the next day.

“He wanted to go get food with me. I was thinking he wanted to grab Moe’s on his way out of town. When he began to mention nice restaurants my heart started racing, was he asking me on a date? I didn’t know what to think but that night we went to a wonderful dinner in Athens. We didn’t stop laughing the entire time,” she recalls. Falling in love would be an understatement. They went out four more times while in Greece and Krysta hoped it would never end. However, it soon was time to get back to reality and Bobby had to leave.

After toughing out a long distance relationship for a bit they ended up together in Jacksonville. On one sunny day Bobby told Krysta he wanted some good pictures of them together so he asked Krysta’s sister to take photos of them on the beach at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. The photo shoot went from capturing posed smiles to pure shock as Bobby put one knee in the sand and asked Krysta to marry him.

Krystal’s “something new” were her shoes. “I dreamed about these sparkly shoes with a red bottom and when we were in New York I saw them in a store. They are Cinderella shoes for sure! I loved dancing the night away in my sparkly Christian Louboutins!” • The “something borrowed” was a diamond bracelet from her mom.

While they enjoyed a vast buffet-style dinner the evening also included some fun extras. “We love Whit’s Frozen Custard so we made it a part of our celebration by including it with the desserts! We also had Krispy Kreme donuts and Krystal burgers for a late night snack,” says Krysta. •  “At the reception we had Greek dancing! Dancers came dressed up and everyone got to join in. We loved being on the dance floor. Even surrounded with our friends and family we were attached at the hip and so connected with each other.”
