Emily & Jason

May 29, 2017

One night in January of 2014 Jason, a personal chef by profession, decided instead of cooking for someone he would have someone prepare a meal for him. He headed to the underground supper club Porkman’s Table in Atlanta. There, his server Emily caught his eye. The two bonded over their mutual love of fine cuisine and travel.  Two years later, when Emily had been away on a long business trip, Jason decided he never wanted to be without her. When she returned he had planned a special “date night.” He took her to three significant locations—the supper club where they first met, the sushi restaurant where they had their first dinner and, finally, Turner Field where they had their first date. They took a private tour of the ballpark, seemingly having the stadium to themselves. However, but family was hiding nearby with cameras ready. Jason walked her onto the field and asked her to marry him. She thought the proposal was a home run.

“We loved the natural feel of Amelia Island so we kept the colors to neutrals, ivory and blush, to let the beauty of the environment be the focus,” Emily says. • “It was important to us that our ceremony feel sacred even though it wasn’t in a church. We used church pews for our guest seating and incorporated traditional hymns into the processional.”

“We knew from the beginning that we didn’t want a traditional tiered wedding cake. Tiramisu is our favorite dessert so we decided to serve it as part of dinner paired with Jason’s homemade limoncello instead,” Emily says. • “We exchanged vows to each other as letters in lieu of reciting them at the wedding. We wanted it to be personal but didn’t want our guests to have to listen to our sappy love for each other!” Jason says.
