Picking a wedding party is no easy feat. Here are some things to consider when selecting the lineup.
First Mates
The role of maid of honor and best man are coveted spots. If the decision isn’t a clear one, consider the choice based on qualities. Figure out who is the most responsible, can be depended on and is always ready to help. Opt for someone who has similar taste—so when it falls on them to make decisions they make a good one. Hopefully, the others will understand.
Take a Number
Talk to your spouse about how many people will be in the party. The bridesmaids and groomsmen are typically an even number considering they walk down the aisle together. If it doesn’t matter, then think outside the typical roles your party will play. If there’s more family and friends than you would immediately want in the party, divide up tasks throughout the wedding so everyone can be included.
Sisters & Misters
Odds are, your fiancé may want their brother or sister to be included in the party. Whether going traditional or not, it wouldn’t hurt to have siblings standing. Plus, it will probably help earn points with the in-laws.
