How one couple used The Force in their wedding send-off

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Kasie and Chris fell in love. Their friendship evolved into romance as their love of Star Wars (and other geeky hobbies) brought them closer together.

“We wanted a very elegant wedding, but we also wanted elements that highlighted some of our favorite nerdy things,” says Kasie. One way they decided to incorporate this idea was to depart through a tunnel of light sabers. Not only did it play to their nerdiness, but incorporated the Navy tradition of walking under a tunnel of swords.

The plan was to have “The Imperial March” from Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back playing as they made their grand exit, but there was no way to get the music outside. Nonetheless, the couple walked out to the sound of “The Dark Side” as the entire crowd pitched in to sing the tune.

After their initial departure, as the pair settled into the limo they realized they had forgotten their suitcases and had to circle back. They thought all the guests would be leaving, but as they pulled up they found everyone dueling with their lightsabers
